Last week the Belgian King Albert II visited the Microsoft
Innovation Center in Mons accompanied by the Walloon Minister of Economy
Jean-Claude Marcourt, and Elio Di Rupo, mayor of the city and President of the
Socialist Party. Jan Muehlfeit,
chairman Microsoft Europe, was hosting the event. After the keynote session,
the King met some entrepreneurs, academics and projects owners collaborating
with the MIC.
The visit of the King is a great support for the team and people that have been working on realizing the project and underlines our operating model and purpose of the Innovation center.
The visit got an almost 100% coverage in the media (all national TV, radio and publications) with mostly a positive tone of voice picking up on the support of the Walloon economical tissue by the MIC.
From the 5-6 minutes demo I’ve done for the King, most of the press however kept their on the 15 second chess game demo I concluded with and didn’t cover the 3D heart model demo the King liked a lot.
Quote of the day: “The Queen is more powerful than the King”
