Microsoft Innovation Center Annual report 2010

Last week, the Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) in Mons presented its annual report for 2010. The event and press meeting was hosted by Pierre Leclercq, Chairman of the Board of MIC, Philippe Rogge, new General Manager Microsoft Belux and Jean-Claude Marcourt, Walloon Minister in charge of Economy, SMEs, Foreign Trade and New Technologies.
After 18 months of actual work (first 6 months where about setting up the environment) the MIC is able to present pretty impressive numbers. In 2010: 166 events at the MIC attracted 4,162 visitors; 387 official certifications where handed out after people took their exams; 8 call for projects where launched with a total of 122 participants and 80 innovative projects and 48 start-ups have been supported this year.  These results clearly show the MIC is on track to meet or exceed the objectives initially set at its opening in March 2009.
